Developing gene therapy today to improve lives tomorrow

About VIRxSYS

VIRxSYS Corporation is a privately-held biotechnology company with proprietary platform technologies with which the Company intends to develop therapies for serious human diseases. The Company’s platform technologies include:  (i) RNA reprogramming and repair of gene expression (“SMaRT™ RNA”), and (ii) lentiviral vectors (“LV”) as a delivery vehicle for genetic payloads. The Company is currently using these platform technologies to design and develop therapies which are in various stages of development from pre-clinical through Phase II clinical trials.

The biotechnology industry has promised for years the success of genetic medicines. VIRxSYS believes that its intellectual property, combined with its laboratory and clinical experience, puts the Company in an excellent position to deliver on that promise.

The Company’s lead program, now in Phase II human clinical trials, is an anti-HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) therapy based on the Company’s lentiviral vector delivery platform and an RNA antisense technology, which the Company believes could significantly slow or potentially even stop the disease progression to AIDS. The therapy molecularly cripples HIV resulting in a defective virus which is less-infectious.  This therapy can dramatically increase the number of CD4 cells and strengthen the immune system. VIRxSYS also has projects in HIV vaccine, cardiovascular diseases, hemophilia A, induced pluripotent stem cell (iPS) generation, and 2nd generation antibody development (“in vivo antibody manufacturing”), each of which represent potential treatments for patients in great need.

Mission Statement

With its technology platforms, VIRxSYS has become a leader in RNA therapy research and development, and the Company intends to become the recognized leader in RNA based medicines and vaccines to treat serious human diseases.
