Research Associate - Immunology

Scope of Position:

The Immunology Department at VIRxSYS is responsible for designing, optimizing and running immune-based assays aimed at characterizing the immunogenicity of vaccine candidates in human clinical trials and preclinical studies.  VIRxSYS is looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual to work in the immunology department, a research group optimizing new vaccine candidates and studying human immune responses to vaccines.  This position involves providing leading expertise in several areas of immunology research and immunological monitoring of clinical trials conducted by the company.

Major Responsibilities:

 

        • Designing the global immune monitoring strategy in collaboration with the team leader and other members of the team
• Optimizing the immune monitoring procedures and writing SOPs related to the testing
• Processing of patients blood samples according to established SOPs
• Performing immunological assays such as polychromatic Flow cytometry analysis of immune cell phenotyping, ICS, tetramer staining, Elispot, ELISA, cell culture, among others
• Ordering lab supplies and maintaining lab equipment

 

Experience and Qualifications Requisite for Position: 

 

The candidate must have relevant multicolor flow cytometry and other related immunology experience. General lab experience working with cell cultures and cells ex vivo and computer competency and relevant computer programs is a must.

 

Previous experience with implementation of immune monitoring in human clinical trials a plus.

Educational Requirements:

  Minimum of B.S. required, M.S. highly desired.
