Shuyuan Zhang, Ph.D.
Dr. Zhang is the Senior Director of Manufacturing at VIRxSYS, responsible for all cGMP manufacturing activities for clinical and preclinical activities. He has over 15 years of gene therapy product development and manufacturing experience covering retroviral, adenoviral, adeno-associated, lentiviral, and non-viral vectors. Prior to joining VIRxSYS, Dr. Zhang worked at Introgen Therapeutics, Inc., Targeted Genetics Corporation, and Genetic Therapy, Inc. taking products from preclinical, through clinical trials and BLA approval. He is the inventor of more than five issued US Patents in the field of production process and product formulation. Dr. Zhang graduated from University of Surrey UK with a major in Biochemical Engineering.
